Part of the family, yet strong enough to stand on its own. That's the Clinton Bed Table. As part of the Clinton Bedroom Set, it completes a classic boudoir the likes of which you see in the pages of shelter mags like Traditional Home. As an individual piece, those graceful cabriole legs and ball and claw feet would be stunning in any living room. Looking for a pop of color? Imagine the Clinton as an end table, refinished in eye-catching emerald green...or maybe classic black lacquer. Your imagination and my skills can bring this baby back to life. After all, she's still looking great after about 100 years, and she's got at least another hundred in her!
Solid mahogany

Janie is named for my dear friend who has a nearly dangerous penchant for all things Restoration Hardware. When I finished stripping multiple layers of paint off this dresser, I found it to be solid wood, with an oak top and drawer fronts. This beautiful little piece was just crying for an RH finish -- it compares to their waxed or weathered oak finishes. Super sturdy and diminutive in size, Janie would be equally useful holding onesies for the baby, mail in the entry, or extra pillows and blankets in the family room; she'd even make a great bedside table. Bring Janie home today!

Sarah, plain and simple. Maybe they were inherited from your aunt who lived in the country. Maybe you found them at a flea market. Either way, they fit perfectly with your modern farmhouse decor. Their style is ol' school, but their finish is au courant. White, turned legs and an antiqued, planked top of dark stained wood veneer with just enough of a greige-pink undertone. You can't go wrong with these wood side tables.

The architecture, furniture, and other expressions of the past, around which are woven many of our traditions -- these things are our heritage passed down [...]. It is our duty to preserve them, and it should be considered our privilege to have a part in any undertaking looking to this end. ~ James Leath, Columbia County Historical Society President, Brooklyn Museum Quarterly, 1935 |
