“KATE” Vintage Drexel Touraine Desk & Chair Set

Introducing Kate, a gorgeous Drexel “Touraine” desk (or vanity table) with (7) dovetail pull out drawers, original ornate solid brass hardware, and elegant French Provincial cabriole front legs. The desktop is restored to its original natural wood finish complementing the warm light to mid-toned gray paint. The drawer sides are also painted with delicate stencil floral accents. The top right drawer bears the Drexel Design Seal.
The matching chair is entirely reupholstered using Magnolia Home Fashions Hamilton Grey fabric, over a newly batted seat cushion with a gimp braid trim. Brand new cane back has coordinating woven braid trim.

Drexel produced the “Touraine” French provincial furniture collection from the mid-1950’s through the mid-1960’s. The series included a bedroom and dining room set inspired by the curvy lines classically found in Louis XV furniture, popular from 1730 to 1775. Their pieces are highly sought after for their quality and history.
